Dr. Afif Safieh, former PLO Ambassador in Moscow - considered the most experienced and skilled Palestinian diplomat having served in the three most politically significant capitals: London, Washington, and Moscow. He was nominated in June 2009 as Palestinian Roving Ambassador for Special Missions, based in London. During the Fateh sixth national conference held in Bethlehem in August 2009, he was elected a member of the Fateh Revolutionary Council, the parliament of the Fateh movement.
Dr. Gabi Baramki, former acting President of Birzeit University, served as general secretary of the Council for Higher Education and consultant to the Palestinian Ministry of Education. Dr. Baramki is the author of “Peaceful Resistance: Building a Palestinian University Under Occupation”, a book forwarded by former President Jimmy Carter.
Dr. Tamim Barghouti, renowned Palestinian poet, has five published poetry collections and two academic books on political theory and Middle East History. He has performed in almost every Arab country and his poetry recitals have often attracted thousands from various age groups. He writes in Standard Arabic as well as in the Egyptian and Palestinian dialects. He is currently a Visiting Professor of Political Science at Georgetown University, Washington DC.
